ATLANTA, GA - Florida Southern College women's basketball standouts Camille Giardina and Anja Fuchs-Robetin have been named as all-America selections by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), it was announced on Monday evening. Giardina earned all-America honors while Fuchs-Robetin was an honorable mention selection.
The WBCA selected 10 all-Americans and 30 honorable mention award winners.
Giardina, who was previously named as a D2CCA Honorable Mention all-American and the D2CCA South Region Player of the Year, also earned SSC Player of the Year honors and was the SSC Tournament MVP after guiding the Mocs to their 12th SSC Tournament and 14th SSC Regular-Season titles this season. She averaged 19.8 points per game, the top mark in the SSC, and shot 48.3 percent from the floor as a senior. Her 654 total points this year were the second-most in a single season in school history, and she ended her career with 1,939 points, fourth-most in program history.
Fuchs-Robetin was a D2CCA First Team all-South Region selection, a first-team all-SSC honoree, and a Google Cloud Third Team all-American. She averaged 18.4 points per game, third in the SSC, and also pulled down 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting a conference-leading 53.6 percent from the floor. Her 607 total points as a senior were the fourth-most in a season in school history, and she finished her career with 1,677 points, good for eighth all-time.
This is the second-straight year that the duo has earned WBCA all-America honors after grabbing Honorable Mention accolades last season.
